The expo floor at GenCon was huge, with a ton of great games and things to check out, and we wanted to make sure we highlighted the ones that we found especially fun and interesting. One of those was Dungeon Roll, a dice-based dungeon delver.

Dungeon Roll pits players against a dungeon that generates its various levels with dice, and offers more of a challenge as you go deeper. Players roll their own set of dice to determine who their adventuring party will be, with the options of mage, fighter, paladin, and champion – although you can get a scroll as well, which offers a free re-roll.

We sat down with Chris Schreiber at GenCon, where he gave us a brief overview of the game, as well as played a full delve with Dalton and myself. The game is incredibly easy to pick up and play, and can be played with one person, or as many as you’d like!

Each “delve”, which lasts until a player decides to rest his/her party, can last from 10-20 minutes, and players must play through 3 delves to complete the game. The player with the highest number of points at the end wins!

Check out our quick interview with Chris, and our brief demo of the game at the show. We played a few games as a group one evening after Gen Con closed, as played a few of the heroes to check out the game. We’ll be posting a review in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

You can grab a copy of Dungeon Roll on Amazon, or check out their website here!
