The Apex Legends Awakening Collection Event arrives next week, featuring the return of Control, the debut of the Valkyrie Heirloom, Lifeline buffs, and more.

While some people are having fun playing Apex Legends Mobile, the O.G. game Apex Legends is in the middle of Season 13. A brand new update is set to arrive next week, and this one features the return of a popular game mode and some much-needed buffs for Lifeline.

What's New in the Apex Legends Awakening Collection Event?

The Apex Legends Awakening Collection Event has a lot of great stuff on way -- here's a point-by-point breakdown of some of the big changes and improvements on the way.

Control Comes to World's Edge, Gets Quality-of-Life Changes

The popular Control game mode will be making its return next week with a new Control map on World's Edge. (Naturally, the Olympus and Storm Point maps will return, too.)

Aside from the new Control map, the Apex Legends Awakening Collection Event will also feature some improvements to the game mode. Maps can now be backfilled at the beginning to prevent imbalanced matches from the get-go. Furthermore, players will benefit from reduced spawn times and a full ult on respawn if they died without using it.

Lifeline's Town Takeover on Olympus

Lifeline is getting her own special building on the northeast corner of Olympus. Lifeline's Clinic features a Med-bay which will heal players standing on the platform as long as it's charged up, but there's a risk: this platform will indicate whether people are using it or it's charging. That's not all this building holds. Aside from its fair share of loot, it also has an "Emergency Platform" console at the back that will allow you to call down a Lifeline Care Package -- even if she isn't on your team.

Lifeline Buffs

Some interesting Lifeline buffs will also be debuting with the Awakening Collection Event next week, including improvements to her Care Package Ultimate:

  • Combat Revive
    • Moved revive cancel option from Lifeline to the player that’s getting revived.
  • D.O.C. Heal Drone
    • Healing pool increased from 150 to infinite (still lasts 20s).
    • Doubled the healing radius.
  • Care Package
    • Cooldown reduced from 5 minutes to 3.5 minutes.
    • The weapon attachment panel now comes with a Shield Battery instead of two Shield Cells.
    • No blue beam on initial drop (will still show up after the Care Package lands).

Valkyrie Heirloom Debut

The Valkyrie Heirloom "Suzaku" will also be making its debut during this event. As with other Heirlooms, you can unlock this weapon by collecting all 24 event-themed cosmetics throughout the course of the event. Otherwise, you can get it through the standard method of hoping you're lucky enough to get some Heirloom Shards in an Apex Pack.

IMC Armory Gets Fixes

The IMC Armory on Storm Point is getting some fixes and changes. An exploit that allowed players to throw grenades or teleport into a locked Armoy with Ash's Ultimate should now be resolved. Players will also no longer be able to park a Trident hovercar on top of the Armory to block players from using the jump pad to leave. Unfortunately, a nerf is also coming for the IMC Armory -- the Gold Loot Roller reward has been removed for Wave 8.

This update features a bunch of other fixes and changes including the return of the R-301 and Rampage to the ground; you can read about all of the new goodies on the way in the full Apex Legends Awakening Collection Event patch notes.

Apex Legends Awakening Collection Event Reward Tracker
The Awakening Collection Event will feature a 5,000-point Reward Tracker and the opportunity to get some neat weapon skins.

When is the Apex Legends Awakening Collection Event Start Date?

The Apex Legends Awakening Collection Event start date is Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

Some much-needed changes and the return of a popular game mode are sure to make this event worth checking out when it arrives next week. You can join in on the Battle Royale mayhem by playing Apex Legends for free on PC and consoles right now.
