Norman Reedus in Death Stranding 2 Trailer

At The Game Awards 2022, Kojima Productions revealed the Death Stranding 2 trailer. A Hideo Kojima game, Death Stranding 2 is a sequel to the 2019 original. Teased (potentially mistakenly) by Norman Reedus months ago, The Death Stranding sequel is one that many fans have been looking forward to.

The new Death Stranding 2 trailer showed us glimpses of the world so many players have already become familiar with, and confirmed Norman Reedus will be returning to reprise his role. This post-apocalyptic future looks even more threatening and engaging than the first game.

The Death Stranding 2 trailer itself showed us Fragile being pursued by an unknown enemy. We also got a glimpse of Sam Bridges from the original Death Stranding.

Hideo Kojima himself came out on stage to talk about the game. Though he was coy about the specifics of the details surrounding Death Stranding 2, he did say there was plenty packed into the Death Stranding 2 trailer for fans to review and discuss. Kojima confirmed he had the story for Death Stranding 2 written before the pandemic, but once the pandemic hit he went through and basically rewrote the game from scratch.

Potentially the strangest thing about the Death Stranding 2 reveal is after the trailer was released, Kojima Productions social channels revealed that Death Stranding 2 is a working title. What exactly is this game going to be called officially? Only time will tell, but we may need to wait a while as the Death Stranding 2 release date has not been confirmed yet.

Like the first game, Death Stranding 2 is being developed in partnership with Sony Interactive and will release on PlayStation 5.
