Koei Tecmo partnered with the creators of the Fate series at Type-Moon for a brand new game titled Fate/Samurai Remnant

The game will be an action JRPG coming in 2023 for PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Aniplex, which holds the publishing rights for Fate/Grand Order, is part of the deal as well, credited for "production coordination."

In case you're wondering, the North American and European arms of Koei Tecmo have already confirmed that the game will come west, so you can expect to play it at least in English. Additional languages have not been revealed.

Development is handled by Koei Tecmo's well-known Omega Force studio, which usually creates the "Warriors" games, known as "Musou" in Japan, so it's possible that there will be similar gameplay mechanics in this game as well. For now, we haven't seen gameplay so it's hard to say. Recently, the studio has been working on Wild Hearts, a monster-hunting game that will be published under the EA Originals brand.

KT's Kou Shibusawa brand (named after Koei's founder) is also involved. It usually works on the company's historical titles like Nobunaga's Ambition and Romance of the Three Kingdoms. This isn't surprising considering the game's apparent setting in feudal Japan.

The announcement came with a trailer showcasing the protagonist as he performs his first summoning. It ends with the appearance of one of Fate's most popular servants, Miyamoto Musashi. You can watch it below.

If you're unfamiliar with the Fate series, it debuted in 2004 with an adult-oriented visual novel titled Fate/stay night. It has since shed its adult nature (albeit it retained plenty of fanservice) becoming a massive multimedia franchise including anime, manga, and more, culminating with the ultra-popular Fate/Grand Order mobile game.
