The original critically acclaimed rail shooter all the way from 1995, Panzer Dragoon, is receiving a remake. Handled by Sega and Team Andromeda at the time, they managed to produce what became a cult classic for everyone who loved the idea of riding a dragon and shooting enemies as you soar. The 2020 remake is being developed by MegaPixel Studio and published by Forever Entertainment, and has already taken flight on Nintendo's Switch console. A PC version is soon to follow later this year. Panzer Dragoon Remake is set to receive its 1.3 version update, and it almost takes the title to new skies.

In an interview conducted by Panzer Dragoon World with the Co-Producer of Panzer Dragoon Remake, Benjamin Anseaume, he shares what we can expect from the Panzer Dragoon 1.3 update. Anseaume details most of the things coming to the game, including 60 frames-per-second support, an auto-lock system, new game mode, new gameplay settings for players to mess around with, reduced input lag, and much more. These are just the highlights covered in the interview, as we are still waiting for the detailed patch notes with the reported bug fixes and performance improvements.

  • HD Rumble
  • 60FPS Supper
  • Improved Controls: reduced input lag and improved rotation
  • Gyro Controls
  • Face Button options for firing/locking
  • Auto-lock system as an option
  • Improved Sound Effects
  • Dragon animation reworked
  • Episode 0 added
  • New game mode
  • more gameplay options
  • options accessible from the pause menu
  • New cheat codes
  • Game language based on console language at first launch
  • Secret Pandora Box Menu will become available regardless of difficulty beaten.

Sadly, it may be a bit until we see this update released. Panzer Dragoon update 1.3 is with Nintendo for validation right now, but the country is shut down due to the COVID-19 crisis, delaying the validation - possibly until it is reopened. For now, they aren't putting a date on when to expect it due to those issues.

Currently, there isn't any set release date for the PC version but it is expected to release within 2020. Make sure to check out the interview below, but take note as it is in French.

What are you most excited to try out from Panzer Dragon's 1.3 version update? How much did input lag and rotation affect your playthrough? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
