Iron Galaxy and Epic have announced the Rumbleverse release date. The free-to-play wrestling battle royale is entering the ring this August, and its developers are so confident that it'll be ready for the main event that they're entirely skipping Early Access.

When is the Rumbleverse release date?

Per an official announcement on the game's website, the Rumbleverse release date is August 11th. Given that it was originally announced during 2021's Game Awards ceremony, that's a pretty impressive turnaround time. The devs say that Rumbleverse is "good to go", so there won't be an Early Access period; instead, you'll simply be able to download and play the full game for free when it launches on PC and consoles, with more content on the way after the game's initial release.

Rumbleverse offers an irreverent take on both wrestling and battle royale gameplay.

At launch, Rumbleverse will support Duos, so you'll be able to team up with a friend to enjoy its wacky wrestling battle royale antics. The game's first content season will start a week after it launches, and it'll feature a battle pass (because of course it does) with an extra path to earn rewards for your Locker Room. Before that happens, the devs say you'll have a few days to get accustomed to Rumbleverse and the world of Grapital City (yes, really) so you can decide whether the battle pass is for you or not. Naturally, there will be plenty more content on the way for the game, so watch this space.

What is Rumbleverse?

Rumbleverse is a free-to-play wrestling battle royale game that combines the arcadey mechanics of WWE 2K Battlegrounds with the last-man-standing battle royale gameplay of...well...take your pick. 40 players are dropped into the streets of Grapital City, where they must wrestle one another in order to achieve victory. Naturally, there will be plenty of over-the-top wrestling moves to perform in Rumbleverse, as well as a variety of weapons and upgrades to unlock to keep you in the game.

It's almost time to powerbomb your opponents in Rumbleverse.

Rumbleverse launches for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on August 11th. There's no word yet on a Nintendo Switch version. The game has its work cut out for it in a world that's still pretty oversaturated with superb battle royale experiences, but hopefully, its overtly irreverent style and focus on wrestling can help it to stand out from its peers. We'll bring you more on Rumbleverse as soon as we get it, so stay tuned to TechRaptor for more info on this game.
