Magic: The Gathering contest has been announced and it's got some pretty stellar prizes: not only will you get to take a trip to Wizards of the Coast HQ and check out a super-secret upcoming game — you'll also be able to design your very own magic card.

Check out this video from Magic: The Gathering's head designer Mark Rosewater to see what it's all about:

Fewer than 1,000 people have actually created cards for the game, and this Magic: The Gathering contest will put the winner in a select category of people who have contributed to one of the world's biggest CCGs.

Of course, this isn't just a cool contest for some diehard fans — it's also supporting the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Entering this contest is pretty simple, although you can increase your chances by donating to the Make-A-Wish foundation.

    • $0 - 1 free entry
    • $10 - 100 entries
    • $25 - 250 entries
    • $50 - 1,000 entries
    • $100 - 2,000 entries
  3. Enter before June 30, 2020, at 11:59 PM Pacific.
  4. The winner will be announced on or around July 15, 2020.

There are several things to consider with this contest, the foremost of which is the inability to travel due to the coronavirus pandemic. The contest runners stipulate that arrangements will be made for the winner to travel once it is safe to do so.

This isn't the only big Magic: The Gathering news recently — player drafting has come to Magic: The Gathering Arena. You'll be able to battle in drafts against real-world opponents. You can also score three free booster packs with the code PlayIkoria in-client.

In any case, this Magic: The Gathering contest is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to make your mark on tabletop gaming. If you'd like to contribute, you can go to omaze.com/products/magic-the-gathering and make your entry.
