Today New Blood Interactive released Dusk HD, the remastered version of its successful boomer shooter Dusk

Yet, the good news don't stop at the launch of a new experience for the fans. We learn from an official post on Steam the creation of the HD remaster and making it fully moddable was a massive undertaking primarily tackled by two specific developers.

Ben "Zombie" Moir has spent the past five years rewriting the game from the ground up, while David "Garumin" Bonin has remade all the visual assets of the game by hand and created new ones in two years.

Apparently, the two developers are being surprised with an unexpected bonus, with all the profit made by Dusk in December 2023 being split among them.

On top of that, the new enemy and weapon models were made by 3D artist Cody Lambert, while all the new animations are by Dom Antonazzo and Lachlan Milne.

While these developers started at New Blood as external contractors, they have now been hired as full-time employees to work across New Blood's portfolio of games.

Incidentally, below you can take a look at the launch trailer showing off the game in its new incarnation.

Speaking of moddability, the basic software development kit and the game's implementation of Steam Workshop also launched today, allowing players to make and play custom maps (without the HD assets), and replace textures and sounds.

The full Dusk Development Kit will be available soon letting players play every custom map with HD or original graphics, replace weapons, models, and more.

If you'd like to see the difference between Dusk and Dusk HD, you can take a look at the comparison trailer released a few weeks ago. Dusk HD is currently available as a free DLC for the original game on Steam.
