How V Rising Spells Work

V Rising Spells are essentially split into three categories:

  • Active Spells: These Spells include Projectile, Target Area, and Channeling effects. They are deliberately activated and targeted by the player. Players can have up to 2 Active Spells equipped at a time.
  • Travel Spells: Travel Spells are a specialized dash that has additional effects. You typically dash in the direction you are facing. You can have one Travel Spell equipped at a time.
  • Ultimate Spells: Highly powerful Spells that can do a lot of damage or have special effects that can turn the tide of battle. You can only have one of these equipped.

Spells are split into six trees in the Spellbook, seperated by discipline. Each discipline has a different unique special effect such as "Ignite" for Chaos Magic or "Static" for Storm Magic. Additionally, each Spell tree has three passive abilities that you can unlock.

How to Unlock New Spells in V Rising

You can unlock new Spells in V Rising by defeating V Blood bosses. Some bosses will give you a Spell Point for a particular discipline. Spell Points are either Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 and will give you the ability to unlock a Spell of that tier in that discipline.

Additionally, many of the Spells in the Spellbook are hidden at the start of the game. You'll have to keep progressing through the Acts and killing V Blood bosses to discover more Spells.
